I Just Wanna F**kin' Dance!
I saw this video today and it took me away. Away to a place that I love. My life of theatre and endless trashy movies. Please enjoy this video as much as I did. I know you've seen almost all (if not all) those movies that are featured in this. The joy that this video brought me today is the joy and laughter that makes life worth living.
Now...I just wanna fuckin' dance!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Trailer
I saw this trailer when I saw The Spirit on Tuesday. According to my best friend Sparky, I was so excited that I was practically leaping out of my seat and trying to hug the movie screen.
Can't wait!!

Legend
Last night I donated my time and stage managed a benefit for a dear friend. A Simply Barbra Holiday Spectacular. The benefit was for the Ali Forney Center. The Ali Forney Center (AFC) was started in June of 2002 in response to the lack of safe shelter for LGBT youth in New York City. We are committed to providing these young people with safe, dignified, nurturing environments where their needs can be met, and where they can begin to put their lives back together.
It is a great charity and I was more than happy to donate my time for this great cause. It was a superb evening! Steven Brinberg is Simply Barbra and let me tell you....he's fantastic! We were doing the sound check with Steven and he starts the show off stage and that man started singing... I looked over at my friend and my mouth dropped. The sound he creates is unbelievable. When Steven transformed into Barbra, it's even more unbelievable. He has her manuerisms down to a tee. What's even better than his talents...he is so kind. It was great to chat with him and find that we have a lot in common. :) If you get a chance to see Simply Barbra, please do. It's a great evening!

My highlight of the evening was meeting legend Julie Wilson. She made her way as a Cabaret performer and made her Broadway Debut in 1946. She is now 84 and still performing her heart out. She is just divine! She is just so precious and I instantly fell in love with her. The way she spoke was just so wonderful. I found her in a full length glittery gown and big, puffy slippers that looked like cartoon tennis shoes. I complimented her on her slippers and she turned around and told me it is like walking on "powder puffs". She later complimented me on my hair color. "It's fake" I whispered to her. "NO!" she says followed by a sly giggle, "I just did mine yesterday!" She wanted to look terrific for her night with Barbra. What a dream she is... The show started and I escorted Julie up the stairs. She walks out on stage with a HUGE red boa to which she says is named Suzie. I am in love with her.

Speechless

Adolf Hitler Campbell, 3, is sandwiched by his parents.
This Hitler youth is blond-haired, blue-eyed and just turned three.
Adolf Hitler Campbell is the middle child of three kids given Nazi-themed names by their parents, including a dad who denies the Holocaust occurred and decorates his home with swastikas.
"They're just names, you know," father Heath Campbell told the Easton Express-Times. "Yeah, they (the Nazis) were bad people back then. But my kids are little. They're not going to grow up like that."
Adolf has two sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie. The latter, just eight months old, was named for Nazi leader Heinrich Himmler.
The bizarre names came to public attention after a local ShopRite declined to provide the Holland Township, N.J., family with a cake inscribed "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler."
"Other kids get their cake," Campbell complained. "I get a hard time. It's not fair to my children. How can a name be offensive?"
The kids are growing up in a home festooned with a swastika in every room. The father wears boots that once belonged to a Nazi soldier, and claims a relative was a member of Hitler's feared Schutzstaffel.
The parents insist they are not racist, although they don't believe in mingling the races.
And Heath Campbell claims he doesn't understand why people are shocked when they hear his son's full name.
Someone give him a history book.

Oh mon dieu!
Yes my dear reader. (Read singular) I am alive. Alive and well. My sincere apologies that I haven't written in some time. I have had writer's block, doctor's appointments, a trip to France...ya know, the usual.
I am trying to come out of my writer's block shell and am trying to come up with things to Blog about. So here I am tonight, sitting on my couch watching House while my beautiful kitten stares at me desperately wanting me to pet her. Because dear lord, I have been gone for 10 hours and she is starving...for attention!
In the last few months, I have watched a lot of TV and read some really great books and my apartment has been the local hotel for visiting family and friends. I am finally home free and thought, "I should write a blog".
But let's talk about these books... I don't know how no one told me about the Twilight Series until after the release of book 4. What?! Why didn't I know about book 1!? Well, dear reader. I hope you've known about these books and have read them. (I am currently on book 3). If you have been deprived of this information and this great series....then go...NOW...to the bookstore or the library and start reading. We'll discuss when you're done. Now, let's talk about the other book I'm reading. Bright Lights, Big Ass by Jen Lancaster. Let's just skip my review of this book. I ORDER you, yes ORDER, to go buy this book. It's brilliant.
I just found a sweatshirt in a catalog that says "I 'heart' spreadsheets" Love it.
And yes, I'm still on weight watchers. Down 13 point something pounds. I'm making a dent. Slowly but surely.
Is it Christmas yet?

Time to celebrate!

So for those of you who don't already know... I am obsessed with the iPhone. I, of course, wanted the first generation the day it came out, but I couldn't afford it. So I sat patiently (all the while gawking at everyone else who had one) until Christmas for the phone. My dad gave me a gift card to Apple so I could get my phone but my computer, Bulldog - may she rest in peace - malfunctioned and I had to get a new computer. So alas, no iPhone. But guess what! They're coming out with a 3rd generation phone this summer. Well rumor has it they'll announce it at the World Wide Developers conference in June and have it ready for shipment in July. (HOLLAH!) So I am setting my sights (and hopes) on getting the phone sometime this summer. I just read an article that AT&T is going to lower the iPhone price by $200. No need to read that again, I'll tell you. $200 dollars!! The catch is signing a two year contract. Well guess what, Skipper is already an AT&T customer. So what's another two years to get the iPhone at the price point of $199 instead of $399. Ok, let's just say that my obsession just increased by about 980293849408%.
